Progettazione significa ...?
Quando guardo qualsiasi cosa mi chiedo come sia
stato possibile realizzarla. E le cose più affascinanti
sono le più semplici, dove non ci sono orpelli.
Sono appassionata del minimalismo, di vedere e vivere
l’architettura contemporanea, pur avendo lo studio
in una villa del ‘700.
Sono convinta che un buon progetto è l’equilibrio
di molti compromessi tecnici. Penso che il progettista
possa spostare il punto di equilibrio tra forma
e funzione, tra il bello e il brutto, tra artistico
ed il commerciale; essere consapevole di questo
potere mi fa sentire viva.
Quali materiali preferisci?
Amo i materiali “veri”, superfici naturali che cambiano
con il passare del tempo. I Legni, i metalli, ed
anche il cemento.Il cemento è materia dalle grandi
potenzialità formali, forza innovatrice e dall’aspetto
povero. In questi ultimi anni ha acquistato un valore
aggiunto altamente estetico, ha in se un contenuto
culturale che lo ha fatto diventare pietra preziosa
che seleziona estimatori poiché rappresenta il lusso
sotto forma di understatement.
Capire i limiti di ogni materiale ed usarlo al meglio,
questo mi spinge ad una ricerca continua alla scoperta
delle ultime
realizzazioni in campo architettonico, a frequentare
fiere, expo,…
Ma cosa si può scoprire oggi?
Ci sono ancora tantissime cose da scoprire e da
capire, nuovi modi di pensare e di vivere gli spazi
come il nuovo terminal passeggeri dei FOA a Yokohama,
lo spazio concepito in accordo con la natura, ed
i fruitori lo vivono anche al di fuori della sua
originaria funzione.
La
collezione LOVECEMENT nasce proprio dalla voglia
di lavorare di pensare agli spazi verdi in modo
diverso. Creare zone di aggregazione, oggetti scultorei
che si integrano con il paesaggio, forme che mutano
di colore con gli agenti atmosferici. Non sono semplicemente
sedute, ma oggetti che fanno parte di un paesaggio,
elementi che si rapportano con l’ambiente. |

Design means ...?
Whatever I look at, I cannot but wonder how it was
made.
The most fascinating things are also the simplest,
with no frills.
I am genuinely passionate about minimalism and contemporary
architecture, although my studio is in a villa of
the XVIII century.
I am persuaded that a good project is one that strikes
a balance between various technical compromises.
I believe the designer can shift the point of balance
between form and function, beauty and ugliness,
artistic and commercial work.
Being aware of this ability makes me feel alive.
What materials do you prefer to work with?
I like “real” materials, natural surfaces which
change with time: woods, metals and cement too.
Cement has great formal potential, innovative force
and plain look. Over the last years it has also
gained a high esthetic value and, thanks to its
cultural content, has become a precious stone which
entices with its understated luxe.
The desire to understand the limits of each material
and to exploit it to the full drives me to attend
fairs and exhibitions in an unrelenting quest for
the latest architectural feats.
But what can still be discovered?
So many things are still there be discovered and
understood: new ways of conceiving and experiencing
spaces, like Yokohama new passenger terminal by
FOA, which is an example of space in harmony with
nature and whose actual use goes well beyond its
original function.
The
LOVECEMENT collection rises from this desire to
conceive green spaces in a different way, thus creating
meeting places, sculptured objects which are at
one with the landscape and whose colours change
with the weather.
These are not simply seats, but objects which are
an integral part of the landscape, elements in relationship
to the
surroundings. |
